The British Asian Trust 3rd Annual Gala Dinner

On the 2nd February Their Royal Highnesses The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall attended The British Asian Trust's 3rd annual gala dinner at the Natural History Museum.

His Royal Highness founded the British Asian Trust in 2007 to do something about the widespread poverty and hardship that he saw in South Asia. He turned to the entrepreneurial spirit of the British Asian diaspora, aiming to link them with innovative social entrepreneurs and grassroots interventions in the region.

Their Royal Highnesses joined 450 dinner guests, including celebrities from the world of film, TV, music and sport as well as some of the leading names in British and international business and enterprise, to support and raise awareness of the charity's campaigns and work.

Speaking as President of the Trust, His Royal Highness said "In the past year, my Trust has continued its efforts in four key areas – education, livelihoods, mental health and anti-trafficking. These issues can throw up things that are uncomfortable and sometimes even taboo, so I am particularly proud that my Trust does not shy away them and contributes, in its own way, to resolving some of the difficult issues of our time"
