PWCF funds 'Get into' Programmes in rural areas
The Prince's Trust works with local employers and other partners to open up industry to unemployed young people and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by The Trust and the Charitable Foundation are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or they have been in trouble with the law.
'Get into' Traditional Skills - The Prince's Trust's ‘Get into' Traditional Skills programme introduces young people to careers such as stonemasonry, blacksmithing, fencing and other heritage areas, giving them the chance to gain job-specific qualifications.
‘Get into' Food Production - The 'Get into' Food Production programme gives young people practical skills in food manufacturing and educates them about how the food production process works.
Three in four young people supported by The Prince’s Trust and PWCF through the 'Get Into' programmes move into work, education or training.
